Direct Care Worker - Peoria

Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities for clients.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families.
- Assist clients with mobility and physical exercises as needed.
- Administer medication and monitor health conditions as directed.
- Document and report any changes in client behavior or health status.
- Support clients in social and recreational activities.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving preferred.
- Previous experience in direct care or healthcare settings is a plus.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Empathetic and patient demeanor with a passion for helping others.
- Must pass background checks and drug screening.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Member Info:
- 24-year-old male with Autism
- Member has an Augg comm device in place. Speech therapy continues to work with member on using the device and his communication. He is able to speak some words.
- Member is non- verbal and does not always understand consequences in the home and in the community. Docent understand that if he walks in front of a car that he will get hit.
- Lacks Community safety, No stranger danger skills, Lacks Communication Skills: Member in the past has gone out the front door and ran down the street. He will walk up to strangers and greet them. He will go into a street before making sure the road is clear of traffic. He is mostly non-verbal.

Compensation: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
